JCB History Away Day Arranged

jcb2By popular demand ‘Away Days’ are back! P & J Tours has arranged a very special ‘Away Day’ for readers of Old Tractor magazine.

‘JCB History Day’ takes place on Monday 26 March. It is not just a JCB factory visit, although this is an important part of the Away Day. There will be a visit to the original factory and other sites at Uttoxeter that have early links to the Bamford family, including the famous hardware store. This is followed by the visit to the superb JCB Rocester factory, taking in a two-course lunch and the new History Exhibition. Those on the tour will be some of the first to see the £5 million museum and technology centre, as well as the excellent factory tour. The day will start and end at a David Brown collection in Staffordshire.

The collector concerned has agreed to open his premises especially for P & J Tours. The editor of Old Tractor, Peter Love, will be the guide for the day, and there will be a special guest for the day that will add a new dimension to the event. All are welcome to attend this Away Day, which costs £45. A minimum of 30 people is needed for it to take place. For bookings and further details, please speak to Jayne Love, tel: 01323 833125, 10 places have already been booked.

If you have never travelled with P & J Tours, created by Peter and Jayne Love out of the ashes of the Tractor & Machinery Holiday Club, then personal recommendations can be provided. P & J Tours April 2012 ‘Texas Experience’ is now confirmed with 40 people booked.
