About the Editor

A well-known author and journalist specialising in tractors and machinery, Stuart Gibbard has produced many award-winning books and videos. He is a regular contributor to Tractor and Machinery and has written for several leading farming and automotive magazines.

Stuart GibbardStuart comes from a farming background and has been collecting tractors since the early 1970s. His particular interest is in early tractor literature, which he has turned into a mail-order business with help from his wife, Sue. He is also one of the co-organisers of the Spalding model-tractor and literature show.

For over twenty years, Stuart ran the family arable and bulb farm in south Lincolnshire before moving into journalism in the early 1990s after successfully completing the John Deere & Guild of Agricultural Journalists Training Scheme. Devoting much of his time to historical research, he has met and talked with many of the world's leading tractor designers and engineers.
